What’s old is new again in this Mad Men inspired trend that pays homage to masculinity and fashion. Since the premier of this dramatic television series about an advertising agency on Madison Avenue in the 60’s, designers have been inspired and trends born. In the 60’s, a well turned-out man wore classically cut suits and coats and never forgot his spiffy extras like ties, hats and lighters. While modern life may not call for this kind of look on a regular basis, it’s fun to mix things up in a while and add a little sophisticated style to your day. Think sleek cut suits or slim pants with sports coats. Here is a clean, masculine look with a few details and flourishes like the skinny detailing of the pants but applied to a modern silhouette -  an interpretation that is less formal and more fun. The only thing missing is a cocktail.

It’s a trend that’s in for women in this Spring and visual elements of the motorcycle look are also in for men. Spear-
headed by a number of design houses, this interpretation of Biker Fashion gives us jackets inspired by the traditional Brando leather motorcycle jacket.  Here you can see that the jacket does not have to be black or leather to fit the trend.  A motorcycle inspired utility jacket  retains the biker feel without being overtly obvious. The neutral but invited gray colour changes the entire look of the outfit and adds style and personality.  Layered over a bright pop of colour, this look is hardly intimidating or age-specific. Here’s proof that trends can be worn at any age and that  it’s never too late to show some sex appeal!

Classic pieces with a modern twist!  Part preppy and part english gentleman, this trend can  be interpreted in many ways.  From bow-ties to striped socks, oxfords to loafers, to matching vests with pocket squares – combining textures with patterns and colours help create a rich look.  Just how far you want to go with this trend is entirely up to you. For a more preppy, sporty look keep it simple – a button down with rolled up sleeves, a pant or short with a print of some sort, and deck shoes or loafers worn sockless. To channel your inner Brit, try bold, saturated colours and unexpected pairings of pattern to prevent this look from appearing too serious.   Perfect for early spring days, the look shown here emphasizes layering -  another hot trend that achieves a slimming silhouette with loads of interest.
